Okay, So. For my FINAL class as an art history major I have to do a 15 page paper and a 15 minute presentation. I am fine with the paper, but the idea of presenting my research for 15 minutes has been causing night sweats and other traumatizing issues over the course of the semester. I have two weeks until my presentation day and have FINALLY figured out what my topic is.
Are you excited?
Meet my soon to be good friends, Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier and His Wife Marie-Anne-Pierrette Paulze
Jacques-Louis David, 1788
He was a well known French scientist and she illustrated his findings.
My research will entail figuring out what EVERY object in the double portrait is and why, as well as what they are wearing and what that meant in Revolutionary France.
Isn't that exciting??

ReplyDeleteCool! I hated giving any sort of presentations in school and totally stressed over every one! :D Just remember that the other students most likely will be half asleep or not paying attention haha.

At first glance, this just looks like a very simple portrait. But then there is all that stuff on the table. And I like the way she is leaning on him and he is looking at her. Good luck, especially with the presentation. It will go by quicker than you think!
ReplyDeleteOh boy! This doesn't sound too riveting!
ReplyDeletewonderful topic and best of luck with the presentation. 15 min? ugh. no fun.
