So.
One of the 101 things that I am attempting to accomplish is trying 10 new types of beer. I'm not a beer drinker, but I don't believe that many people are born beer lovers. This weekend I had a Yuengling and spent 2 hours begrudgingly finishing it. To me, It tasted like carbonated piss. I just hated it. And supposedly that was one of the GOOD kinds available. Oh well, hopefully I will find something that I like. What is your favorite beer? Or what got you in the habit of actually liking it?

Yuengling is probably one of the few plain beers that I actually can tolerate. It's more complex than a miller or bud lite. But I have to say my favorite beers are the Belgians-Hoegaarden, Chimay..etc I would go to the Beer Advocate Web site. It will open your mind to a whole new world of beers.
ReplyDeleteI don't really like beer too much- I like to have sips of my husband's belgian beers but could never drink a whole one. On hot days, after gardening or something I like corona, but I don't know if that's considered a good beer.
ReplyDeleteI like a good local beer: Upland Wheat. I also really like Fat Tire by New Belgium Brewery out of Colorado. Be sure to try different styles, not just different brands. For example, if you don't like one wheat beer, you might not like any wheat beer. I hope that helps, and good luck!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me laugh because I'm totally on the same page! I wish I could help you here, but quite frankly, I despise beer as well. I want to like it, I really do, but I suppose it's just an acquired taste and well, I haven't yet acquired it! Let me know if you find something good--maybe you can convert me!

ReplyDeleteYeah I never liked beer either but I'll drink it sometimes. The only ones I can really drink are Michaelob Ultra, Smirnoff Ice or any other flavor (it's not really beer though haha it's a "malt beverage" whatever that means), and Bud light. I hate Yuengling! Sometimes I'll get the "special" at a bar to try a new kind, but usually it's $2 for a reason (no one else wants it lol). I only drink beer when I'm too cheap to buy wine or a mixed drink :).

Here are some of my faves...Becks Light, Peroni, Shiner, Harp, Paulaner hefeweizen...I could go on and on. Ah ha. Did you ever get your Perricone MD goody btw??
