Homemade Salad Dressings
Why not save some more money and make your own salad dressing! Fresher, tastier, and you can control what's in it!
Basil Vinaigrette
Whatcha Need:
1 small garlic clove
1 cup(s) packed basil leaves, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup(s) extra-virgin olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoon(s) Champagne vinegar
Pinch of crushed red pepper
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
How to do it:
In a food processor, pulse the garlic until chopped. Add the basil and pulse until finely chopped. Add the oil, vinegar, and crushed red pepper and process until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve with Heirloom Tomato Salad
Season 1 1/4 pounds sliced heirloom tomatoes with salt and pepper and top with the dressing.
Whatcha Need:
1 tablespoon(s) plus 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon(s) finely grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon(s) honey
1/2 teaspoon(s) chopped thyme
1/4 cup(s) extra-virgin olive oil
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper

How to do it:
In a small bowl, whisk the lemon juice with the lemon zest, honey, and thyme. Whisk in the olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Serve on at a watercress salad with toasted pine nuts
Toss 1/4 cup toasted pine nuts with 2 bunches watercress and 1 thinly sliced Belgian endive.
Add the dressing and toss to coat thoroughly.
